Legal education and preparing for the bar exam are much more than an intellectual hurdle. Managing the stress of studying is essential, as is managing the financial and other burdens of daily life.  The Bar and Academic Success team is here to help; we can work with you to find resources you need or just listen to your situation. 

Below are some supplemental resources that you might find useful. Regardless of where you are in your bar prep journey, please don't go it alone. Reach out to a friend, counselor, trusted colleague or family member.

A good place to start is with University of Arizona Law's Student Resources web page. You will find information on accommodations, tutoring, writing center resources, and counseling. The University of Arizona's Counseling and Psychological Services Office offers assistance to students to cope with personal and mental health issues. The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law is delighted to partner with leading legal education nonprofit, AccessLex Institute, to provide our graduates with its cutting-edge bar preparation course at no cost to you. Additionally, all alumni have the opportunity to enroll in a Helix Bar Review by AccessLex course at a significantly reduced rate, making this valuable resource accessible to the entire Arizona Law community. 

Helix Bar Review, a product of AccessLex Institute's mission and resources, is recognized for its innovative approach to bar exam preparation. The Helix courses for the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), California Bar Exam, and Florida Bar Exam are meticulously designed utilizing the latest, proven learning science to ensure long-term retention and ready recall of knowledge.

While employing all the traditional components of a bar review course, such as substantive law outlines, NCBE-licensed practice questions, and graded essays, Helix takes an active learning approach to bar study with integrated content, flashcards, gamification, and more, along with live webinars and online classes that target everything from frequently missed questions and misunderstood concepts to skills instruction that is specific to each type of question on the bar exam. Other highlights include:

  • Modern Learning Experience: Helix revolutionized the bar study experience by introducing concise content segments in a variety of formats, moving beyond the traditional lengthy lectures and videos, and making bar prep more engaging.
  • Flexible Study: Helix also led the way with full course access beginning 20 weeks before the bar exam. Students are guided by detailed study schedules, with options ranging from 10 to 20 weeks to accommodate individual timeframes and responsibilities.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Helix provides analytics and performance tracking to help students identify strengths and areas for improvement, enabling focused study efforts.

NextGen Bar Exam Preparation: AccessLex is the only company selected by the National Conference of Bar Examiners to assist in the development of the NextGen bar exam study materials. Helix is currently preparing its course for the NextGen launch in July 2026.
